Art is Power: d’bi plays a little tune to sooth the audience

The definition of art branches out when three artists come together at the 6th Annual Manifesto Festival to discuss how ‘Art is Power’. Kardinal Offishall, d’bi young, and Pharaoah Monch give stunning presentations allowing us to understand art and power at a different level.  By definition, power is the ability to influence the behavior of others with or without resistance and art is an expression that’s supposed to be of more than ordinary significance. This super panel explains it all at the Ryerson University George Vari Engineering Building!

Kardinal talks about the definition about art and power. “Power is the ability to influence the behavior of others with and without resistance…you can broaden the context and change definitions.”

d’bi discusses the idea of self-actualization

Pharoah Monch telling a story. “…and through all the perseverance I’m still standing.”

  1. BIG WORD aka Edward B. says:

I am truly sorry that illness caused me to miss out on this opportunity but I can attest to the power of music and the importance of art in our culture as a community, as a city, as a country, & as a planet. The way that music can speak to you, regardless of the language you and the artist speak, is not only mind boggling, but beautiful and inspirational as it is a way to awaken us to the truth of being humans – WE’RE ALL THE SAME! Uniquely so, & thus our sense of difference or individuality aides us to stand out and give different perspective to the same picture. But at our very core, we are all one through God and that is what makes Manifesto, Art, & MUSIC so VERY IMPORTANT in this world and beyond it.
